My journey with the MHST -601 has been a wonderful learning experience. The first post about the social media presence, made me re-think about my social media participation and postings. Especially about my face book account. Until the time I had to complete the social media presence assignment I didn’t deeply reflect on my postings on face book.

After completing the assignment, and reflecting upon my experience as well as reading my classmates ideas and perceptions now I think I am more cautious about my postings on social media. I clearly understood that our postings on social media will contribute to our professional identity.

Creating the e-portfolio was enjoyable as well as challenging. I wish I have known about diigo or another personal knowledge management tool prior to this course. It would have been so helpful to my previous courses. However I am so grateful to the professor for introducing a personal knowledge management tool.

Each chapter of the course opened up a new horizon of health care. Reading and sharing ideas with the class mates and reading the postings from the professor was interesting and sometimes was challenging. During the course I would read all the postings in the morning and by evening there will be another 25 postings to read and each one was really interesting.

I enjoyed meeting professionals from different provinces and reading their professional experiences and research interests.

After all the assignments and readings and blog posts in last three months, I am clearer that as a health care worker our mission should be to serve our patents ethically and to the best of our ability.

Our vision should be to contribute our knowledge, ability and service to achieve sustainable and compassionate care.
